1000 Connecticut Avenue
Corner of Connecticut Avenue and K Street NW
Washington, DC
Located at one of Washington's busiest intersections, the two buildings at 1000 Connecticut present all of the challenges inherent in executing demolition in a cramped urban setting. The project requires specialized knowledge and expertise in public safety, both because of working close to adjacent properties and because of the high volume of foot and vehicle traffic. The project involves razing 400,000 square feet of concrete structure to sidewalk elevation, as well as the removal of a substantial amount of asbestos.
