Waterfront Mall
4th & M Streets SW
Washington, DC
Demolition, Excavation and Recycling
At 1.2 million square feet. Waterfront Mall is the largest single building to be razed in the District, and it is part of the master plan for the renewal of the DC waterfront. Wrecking Corp won the contract to raze the massive concrete structure, which required hand separating it from several buildings that were to remain, and for excavation of the site for a new structure. The project required 75,000 cubic yards of excavation and 35,000 cubic yards of backfill. Finally, Wrecking Corp will complete concrete crushing and recycling on site.
