HAZMAT Remediation Columbia Hospital for Women 24th and L streets NW, Washington DC Wrecking Corporation provided a turnkey project of asbestos removal, miscellaneous HAZMAT abatement, plus demolition and excavation of the 270,000 square-foot reinforced concrete hospital. The project also included the strip out and preservation of the 90-year-old brick faηade and outer walls of the original building, which has been renovated and "added on" to many times since its construction in 1914. The main building will be incorporated into a condominium project planned for the site. It was stripped of all existing mechanical, electrical and plumbing lines and utility systems. The building's concrete frame and brick exterior will remain intact for renovation
