The Historic Luzon Apartment Building

Wrecking Corp of America has begun demolition and excavation work at the 2501 Pennsylvania Avenue site of the historic Luzon Apartment Building. Wrecking Corp also will perform a facadomy to retain the original 1896 brick façade, which will be incorporated into a luxury condominium project planned for the site. The general contractor for the project is Tompkins Builders of DC.

Scaffolding surrounds the historic building to support the façade which is to remain and be incorporated into the new building
With scaffolding in place, equipment is brought in to raze back and sides of the building.
Scaffolding is visibly supporting the façade, while demolition work continues.
Careful detail work is a large part of this job.
