Building Strip Out Old Post Office 12th St. & Pennsylvania Ave. NW Washington DC Wrecking Corp. performed architectural and structural demolition of the historic post office building, Washington's first skyscraper. Built to house both the U.S. Post Office and the D.C. Post Office, it was the largest and tallest government building in the city; its steel and granite frame stands 12 stories tall. The D.C. Preservation League spearheaded the preservation movement.
